Synopsis:-

Does saving your family’s honour trump personal happiness? Will the god be appeased if you overfeed him and not help the needy? Will the law protect the stray dog that tears an eight-year-old into shreds? Is a deceased manual scavenger just another statistic who risks his life for a cleaner future?

In the voice of the everyday person, Bobby Sachdeva questions the commonsensical in the most unorthodox manner in Stories of Us. From Rishi to Parth or Lata to Rajnath, their hard-hitting and honest narratives are sure to inspire the common person to rethink the values long etched in our belief system.

Review:-

Stories of us is a collection of 41 thought-provoking short stories of the common man with their common issue like GST, LGBTQ+, Impotency, Career & Family.

Stories from different sections of society. Stories which force you to think again about Humanity, God, Love, Life, etc. At the end of every story, there are questions which demand you to re-think about humanity and life.

You will find an personal connection with every character like Mr Verma, Disha, Mansi, Rahul, etc.

There are few stories where you will feel like I don’t believe this can be true like “New Writer” and “Wish to be a Dog”

If you ask me for my favourite pick. “Connection” A modern 21st-century family where we are more connected with the Internet than our Family and the real world.

There are some stories which I don’t understand like:- 1. Five Desi Americans. 2. Ummidein. 3. Love in the Times of War.

The language is lucid and understandable. Phrases used by Bobby Sachdeva is so simple & common anyone can correlate.

The cover and title give hint about the plot which is really nice. Overall a decent book to make you rethink about life.

Recommendations:-

If you are looking for common stories, simple and short stories in the same language. This one is for you.
